In the past, this used to be a very convenient way for locals to get to their homes. Today Elevador da Bica is a tourist attraction and really amazing fun for visitors.

At night the city takes an entirely new mood. Mystery and romance running throught the city streets where you can hear FADO. A music genre so integral to the Portuguese experience that UNESCO recognizes it as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It’s electric, it’s raw, it’s emotional, and it's often one of the travelers’ most treasured memories of Lisbon.
